Local Web Designer
to Teach Course at Pace University
Ossining, NY – (February
6, 2007) -- Teacher -
Web Designer - Teacher. Cindy Penchina has made a perfect
circle. Penchina’s passion for Web Design started
when she was working as a speech teacher and had the
opportunity to design a website for a nonprofit. Now,
as the Executive E-Services Director of Hudson Fusion,
an integrated marketing firm, she will also teach a web
design course for Pace University’s upcoming semester.
The course, “Web Design for Not-for-profits,” divides
students into four groups with the task to design a website
for a non-profit organization. The students compete
against each other and present their idea to the organizations
that will then select their favorite.
The course helps students learn about web design but also
provides four local non-profit organizations with websites. Penchina
said she is happy to fuse her teaching background with her
passion for web design and nonprofit efforts: “I want
the students to learn how to design a well thought out website
that helps achieve client goals, whether it’s to get
donations or sell products or services.”
